View PeachJar Flyers Goes Green In the past, our schools sent home loads of flyers in students’ backpacks. As part of our efforts to be more environmentally friendly and to embrace innovative technology, we are moving from paper to a digital flyer delivery. With our Peachjar eFlyer program, the eflyers will be sent directly to the parents’ email inbox as well as posted on school websites for easy access. All flyers may be accessed by clicking on the PeachJar button located on your child's school website. Each year, our schools will save tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. In addition, paperless delivery of school flyers removes a significant administrative burden from teachers, office staff, and volunteers. District News School Breakfast and Lunch after Spring Break Mar 27, 2020 Dear Parents and Guardians, We recognize the burden and extra time that this soft closure has placed on families. As a district, we are grateful for your efforts and your learning that was required to help support your kid’s online learning. We know there were struggles and learning curves, but we have received many positive comments about the great things that are going on in homes throughout the district. We are extremely grateful for teachers, administrators, and support staff that have stepped up and provided online learning, resources and supports for students in our district. With the soft closure continuing through May 1, there are a couple of items we need to communicate. SPRING BREAK: March 30-April 3, during this time meals will not be provided. FOOD SERVICES: Over the past eight days we have seen a significant increase in the number of meals served compared to normal school days. Therefore, in order to continue to provide two meals a day to kids 0-18 for free, and to ensure we have enough staff to prepare all of the meals required beginning April 6- May 1, we will make the following adjustments. Buses will no longer be delivering meals to bus stops. Meals will be available from 11:00-12:00, with lunch for the day of pickup and breakfast for the next morning. Please remain in your car and have your student(s) with you to pick up the meal. Having your child with you is a Federal Food Service Program requirement. Meals will only be provided at the following locations curbside. BESD will have Spring Break from March 30-April 3. This school closure is a preventative measure to decrease the spread of the coronavirus. A soft school closure means that students will be dismissed from school, but facilities would be kept open, and staff will continue to work. Beginning on Wednesday, March 18, students will be learning at home via an online curriculum. We have developed a survey to collect data on who has internet connectivity and the number of devices that students could receive an online curriculum.
